There’s no need to cut out your matcha lattes during pregnancy.

You can continue to reap the benefits so long as you’re mindful of how much you’re consuming. Although matcha ranks nowhere near coffee when it comes to caffeine, it does still contain some.

The caffeine guidelines during pregnancy suggest no more than 200-300 milligrams of caffeine per day during pregnancy. This is equivalent to one to three servings of matcha. Depending on the source, the caffeine content of a standard four to five-gram serving of matcha powder can vary quite a bit, so check the product packaging to see if you can get more accurate information on the contents of your specific brew.
