Red Bull isn’t recommended during pregnancy, and there are a few reasons why.

Although it’s not overly high in caffeine, it does contain some ingredients that haven’t been thoroughly researched for safe consumption during pregnancy. Red Bull also contains a whopping 26 grams of sugar per can, which is equivalent to six and a half teaspoons. Energy drink or not, it’s beneficial to be mindful of your sugar intake during pregnancy1 , or really any period of your life. This recommendation is not specific to Red Bull by any means—many energy drinks tend to have similar compositions.
